The HORNER Recruitment team is well trained, with all consultants undergoing formal training much of which is conducted by our industry peak body; the RCSA.

Occupational Health & Safety
HORNER Recruitment is committed to OH&S. We continue to review procedures, processes and training on a regular basis and have recently reviewed and upgraded our OH&S Management System to reflect not only legislative requirements but also best practice. This process was undertaken in consultation with an externally appointed OH&S specialist organisation.
Our review not only resulted in an entirely new OH&S system but also the introduction of best practice training and evaluation software (WorkPro) for the screening and selection of temporary candidates.
The benefit to both HORNER Recruitment and our clients is OH&S compliance over and above the minimum resulting in reduced lost time injuries, trained recruitment consultants, and thoroughly inducted casual staff.
WorkPro
HORNER Recruitment provides induction for every candidate registered for white and blue collar on-hire work. Inductions are both legislative compliance and operationally based.
WorkPro, is an online e-learning and information management system, for the OH&S training and evaluation induction of on-hire personnel. This system is endorsed by the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association (RCSA) and simplifies the delivery and management of learning and employee information, to ensure candidates are job ready with minimal fuss and repetition.
The average module takes about 30 minutes to complete and then candidates complete an on-line assessment to confirm their understanding of the module content. Some modules are dedicated to a particular topic whilst others have been condensed and combined for those that have less time or lower risk. We make decisions on which modules candidates are to complete. The decision with regard to which modules the individual completes is based on compliance obligations, risk management principles and operational considerations, amongst other things. The assessment results are stored in the individual’s work profile for easy reference by an employer or any other party that is required to confirm the delivery of training and induction.

We will work with you to design a minimum standard of service or service level agreement to ensure you are always getting what you pay for….and hopefully more.
Technology
Best practice in service delivery is reinforced by appropriate technology. HORNER Recruitment offices have all been upgraded to the latest Microsoft software and the recruitment database that we utilize. All Horner Recruitment consultants have remote access to our systems via iPhone’s or laptops, 24 hours a day 7 days a week and regularly use the services of Video Conferencing for remote interviewing.
HORNER Recruitment Corporate Social Responsibility and the Environmental Policy
HORNER Recruitment is committed to creating an environmentally sustainable organisation. We are continually striving to find ways to reduce our own energy consumption and associated greenhouse emissions.
To date, in order to reduce our emissions wherever possible, we have looked at everything from our energy usage, waste management, employee travel, stationery and the way we deliver our services.
In line with recommendations from Sustainability Victoria, we currently have initiatives in place for office recycling, energy usage and employee travel. Topics covered in this policy include;
- Recycling (everything we can)
- Energy Usage (the way we conduct business)
- Employee travel (our consultants environmental footprint)
- Purchasing (local suppliers – bulk buys etc)
Invoicing Capability
HORNER Recruitment confirms capability to provide tailored invoicing to our clients, comprising any combination of data:
- Line manager contact
- Temporary staff name and staff category
- Break down of hours paid/charged (i.e. normal time, overtime)
- Purchase order number
- Permanent placement fee and candidate details
Invoice options include a combination of:
- One aggregate invoice per site/ department
- One invoice per temporary staff member, per department/site
- One invoice grouped for all departments/site of all temporary staff/permanent placement transactions
- One invoice per purchase order number
Service Guarantees
HORNER Recruitment provides Service Guarantees for both permanent and temporary staffing.
Temporary Staff Guarantee:
Should a HORNER Recruitment temporary staff member prove unsatisfactory, HORNER Recruitment will replace that candidate at any time upon your request. Should you notify HORNER Recruitment of your dissatisfaction with any temporary employee within 4 hours of the temporary employee’s commencement in the assignment, we will replace that temporary and there will be no charge for the first temporary supplied.
Permanent Staff Guarantee:
Should, within three months from their commencement, our referred candidate withdraw from or prove unsatisfactory for the role to which they were appointed for a reason which should have been identified within the selection process, HORNER Recruitment guarantees to recruit a (one) replacement candidate.
Value Added Services
HORNER Recruitment confirms capability to provide tailored Value Added Services to our clients, comprising;
- Access to Salary Survey Information; HORNER Recruitment subscribes to salary survey information annually.
- Unbundled Services; HORNER Recruitment can undertake various stages of the recruitment process for our clients should that not wish to engage our full service at the time. This could include; resume screening of an advertisement already run internally, reference checking, telephone screening, independent panel interviews.
- Payrolling Facilities; Clients can identify on-hire personnel they may already be aware of and have them pay rolled through HORNER Recruitment on hourly hire or fixed term contract.
- Software Testing Facilities; Clients can access software testing for their own permanent employees or applicants generated from their own recruitment initiatives.
- Project Recruitment Campaigns; HORNER Recruitment can project manage volume based recruitment campaigns for our clients outside the scope of their normal recruitment activities.
- Screening Tools, Police History Checks and Medicals; HORNER Recruitment can facilitate/conduct psychometric testing for our client’s permanent employees or potential applicants. HORNER Recruitment can facilitate probity checks and medicals.
- Induction Programs; Tailored induction programs can be created for on-hire crew, thereby reducing the time spent by our clients inducting new on-hire staff.
