Horner Recruitment, the well known Melbourne firm established by Marie Horner 30 years ago, has appointed prominent Melbourne industry identity Peter Langford as its new Managing Director. Both Marie Horner and Kim Shearn, MD for the last 17 years remain with the firm but Shearn will move to a non-executive role to concentrate on other family interests (Shearn is a Life Member of the RCSA and former National President of the NAPC the peak body that was a forerunner to the RCSA).

Langford was previously MD of Hoban Recruitment for some 7 years during which time he enjoyed considerable success by engineering for Hoban record growth and valuable brand awareness. He has purchased a significant shareholding in Horner and given his strengths with staff management and client relationships, he plans to expand the business organically.

Langford stated that “…my investment in Horner was an easy decision due to the ethical and professional approach to business that we each adopt. We also share very similar attitudes toward the recruitment industry and are committed to modern recruitment ideologies. Langford said “…I am thrilled to have the opportunity to add my 20 years experience in the recruitment sector to Horner’s 30 years of success in the Melbourne market to ensure a strong future for the business and its loyal staff”.
