Marie Horner is one of the pioneers of the staffing services and recruitment industry in Australia. She founded Horner Recruitment in 1975 and, with Kim Shearn as a co-director, has built successful operation. It is 100 per cent Australia owned. Kim Shearn was a long serving Councilor of the RCSA which represents 600 companies with over 350,000 employees. Kim was one the first people to be appointed as a life member of the RCSA.

Horner Recruitment is a foundation member of the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association (RCSA), Australia's professional association for recruitment services. Other affiliations include: Australian Institute of Export (Vic) Ltd (AlEx) and the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
