World Day for Safety and Health at Work<\/h1>\n

Today, Tuesday 28 April 2020, is World Day for Safety and Health at Work and Workers’ Memorial Day.<\/p>\n

Of course, at Horner the safety and health of our Horner community is important every day.<\/p>\n

World Day for Safety and Health at Work and Workers’ Memorial Day is a time to think about how our actions can prevent future work-related deaths, injuries and illnesses, and a day to remember those that have died from a work-related injury or illness.<\/p>\n

The theme for 2020 is\u00a0Stop the pandemic: Safety and health at work can save lives<\/b>.<\/p>\n

What do workers need to do?<\/b><\/h2>\n

COVID-19 has brought with it a need for Australians to adapt to rapidly changing workplace practices.<\/p>\n

You have a duty to take reasonable care of your own health and safety, and to not adversely affect the health and safety of others.<\/p>\n

You need to follow any reasonable policies or directions your host employer and Horner have put in place in response to COVID-19. This includes if you are working from another location, such as working from home.<\/p>\n

We encourage everyone to raise awareness about health and safety in the workplace.<\/p>\n
