What are your hobbies?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Questions you could ask:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>For a\u00a0detailed description of the position<\/li>\n<li>The reason why the position has became available<\/li>\n<li>About the culture of the company<\/li>\n<li>About their induction and training programs<\/li>\n<li>About the company\u2019s best selling products or services<\/li>\n<li>About the next step of the recruitment process<\/li>\n<li>You must determine whether this company will provide opportunities for the growth and development you seek.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Classic Do\u2019s and Don\u2019ts<\/h3>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #d50032;\">Do\u2019s<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>If you do not understand a question, politely ask them to rephrase it, or encourage them to be more specific<\/li>\n<li>Prepare as best you can (ask your Horner Consultant for information about the company culture)<\/li>\n<li>Dress appropriately, adhering to the company\u2019s dress code (ask your Horner Consultant\u2019s opinion if you are unsure)<\/li>\n<li>ALWAYS arrive on time or early for your interview (plan your trip in advance in order to take into consideration transport and\/or parking delays)<\/li>\n<li>Have your mobile phone switched to silent or turned off<\/li>\n<li>Listen to the interviewer<\/li>\n<li>Use the interviewer\u2019s name<\/li>\n<li>Observe the interviewer\u2019s reactions<\/li>\n<li>Take brief notes (if you wish)<\/li>\n<li>Answer questions directly and specifically and avoid long pauses<\/li>\n<li>Describe your accomplishments in qualitative terms<\/li>\n<li>Display confidence in your past achievements<\/li>\n<li>Ask questions that reflect preparation and logical thinking<\/li>\n<li>Express interest in the employer\u2019s needs and the job<\/li>\n<li>End negatives with a positive, for example \u2018No, but I can learn it quickly\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #d50032;\">Dont\u2019s<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Smoke just before going into an interview \u2013 gum and perfume won\u2019t mask it<\/li>\n<li>Chew gum<\/li>\n<li>Relax too much (lean back in your chair)<\/li>\n<li>Be aggressive, impatient or arrogant<\/li>\n<li>Give only \u2018yes\u2019 or \u2018no\u2019 answers to questions<\/li>\n<li>Argue<\/li>\n<li>Lose your cool or show nervousness<\/li>\n<li>Criticise past or present employers<\/li>\n<li>Highlight any weaknesses you may have without a positive<\/li>\n<li>Read documents that are on the interviewer\u2019s desk<\/li>\n<li>Answer your mobile phone (which should be switched off anyway)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remember, the focus for the interview is to communicate what it is in your background that qualifies you to do this job.
