Environmental Health Officer- Local Government

DESCRIPTION

HORNER are currently seeking experienced, professional and motivated Environmental Health Officers to service our clients in the Eastern and South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. Casual opportunities are available to commence immediately with an attractive pay rate on offer.

Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Health Services Team. Provide support and training to the Student Environmental Health Officer, as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers.
  • Investigate and resolve all health-related complaints in an efficient manner. Investigate all complaints lodged pursuant to the Food Act and Public Health & Wellbeing Act against Council registered premises and report on all matters in the investigation process.
  • Liaise with appropriate Council Officers, public and other statutory authorities, as required, on public health and environmental health matters and prepare reports for the Coordinator – Health Services where relevant.

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum two years’ experience as an Environmental Health Officer preferably in a Local Government environment.
  • Current Victorian Drivers License and Working with Children’s Check.
  • Must have qualifications in environmental health, public and environmental health, environmental health management or applied science (Environmental health).
  • Strong communication skills
