‘Working Sooner’ campaign launches!

25 August 2020

Getting Australians back to work sooner

As Australia prepares for recovery, our industry association, the RCSA (Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association), has launched a new campaign ‘Working Sooner’ to promote the critical role Australian Job Agencies, like Horner Recruitment, play in the recovery of the economy.  We are proud to support this campaign.

Horner Recruitment, as an Australian Job Agency, plays a vital role in connecting people with work, helping business to grow and helping Australia’s economy recover from the COVID-19 crisis.

Australian Job Agencies (which encompasses labour hire, recruitment and staffing agencies) are major drivers of jobs and economic growth. We are a $29B industry employing and placing hundreds of thousands of Australians, including professionals, tradespeople, skilled and semi-skilled workers.

Now is the time to rebuild your recruitment strategy

Even if your organisation is based in Victoria and you are currently riding out current restrictions, future-focused HR leaders and hiring managers are beginning to make provisions for the next wave of challenges beyond lockdown and the coronavirus pandemic.

Whether your organisation is able to hire now or not, the time to look at rebuilding your recruitment strategy is now.  There may be more job seekers on the market, however skill shortages are still expected.

By using a job or staffing agency, employers can quickly ramp up and ramp down to respond to fluctuations in demand and output requirements.  Businesses can expand incrementally as conditions improve, and more quickly, than they could without access to this pool of labour.

Horner has been connecting people and helping Australian businesses for 45 years and we are now playing our role to help Melbourne and Australia as we move into the recovery stage.

‘Connecting people, Shaping futures’ is what Horner is all about.

How do recruitment agencies help?

The RCSA asked businesses what they like best about the support they get from agencies. Here are just some of the reasons they gave:

“Staffing agencies make the employment process simpler.”

“Staffing agencies provide the people when I need them. They know where to get them.”

“Staffing agencies handle the compliance side of employment. We partner with them to ensure workers are looked after but they manage the process.”

“Staffing agencies allow me to chase growth without the risk of permanent employment should an opportunity fail. It allows me to have a go at new opportunities and then employ permanently if we are successful.”

“Staffing agencies are great at looking after their people, and that works for me.”

“Staffing agencies provide me with both people and perspective. It’s great to have another partner to share the load.”
